Publix

Here is an email that I wrote to Publix a few minutes ago in regards to the store located near my office in Duluth. Totally unacceptable.

"I would like to express my anger at the way that I was treated at this store this afternoon at approximately 2:20. Let me start by saying that I am a person who loves coupons and I am aware of Publix’s policy on coupons. I usually have a Publix coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon for each item. On my lunch break, I will sometime visit this store if my normal Publix in Winder is out of the product that I am looking for, but I will not visit this store again. I went for several items that I was able to find at this store. The person ringing me up my items scanned all of them and then I gave her my coupons. At this time, she then proceeded to read each individual coupon and match up the Store coupons with the Manufacturer Coupons. This took about 4-5 minutes. She scanned & entered some of the coupons, but some of them she left out and called a member of management over because some of the coupons were for slightly more than what the cost of the item was. The member of management did not even give me the courtesy of saying hello, he spoke quietly to he cashier then proceeded to go over the coupons again for several minutes. Now there was a line building up behind me and it was getting embarrassing. At this point, I was told that he could not take several coupons as I could not combine it with the manufacturer coupon. When I told him that the Publix that I normally go to and that I should be able to combine it with a manufacturer coupon, he said that I would not be able to use it. At this point, I was going to be late to work so I asked them to give me all of my coupons back and cancel the order. This took a couple of minutes as I had packed the items in my reusable bags and had to empty them myself. No one, not the cashier, member of management, or even the clerk that was bagging assisted with this. I left and when I got back in my car, I found that some of my coupons were missing. She did not give them all back to me. I was already late getting back to my office and didn’t have time to go in again and hassle with an already uncooperative cashier and member of management. Unfortunately I do not remember their names (I really wish I had, but unfortunately I cannot as I am so angry at the moment). I normally love shopping at Publix and promote your company to my friends and neighbors due to the way your customers are normally treated, but this is truly unacceptable."
